About Our Parent and Family Engagement Policies and School–Parent Compacts

Federal law (ESSA) requires all Title I schools to develop both a Parent and Family Engagement Policy and a School–Parent Compact. These documents work together to strengthen the partnership between schools and families by outlining how we support student learning, communicate effectively, and involve families in meaningful ways.

NVUSD has extended this best practice to all schools. Each site creates and annually reviews its Parent and Family Engagement Policy and School–Parent Compact with input from families. Together, they describe the school’s commitment to high-quality instruction, the ways families can support learning at home, and the shared responsibility we hold in helping every student succeed.
